A FISHERMAN'S PARADISE

Located along Highway 24, also known as the "Fishing Highway", Bridge Lake is one of over 125 lakes in the area and is well-known for impressive freshwater fishing opportunities.

Bridge Lake has a variety of depths and shorelines with numerous bays, and is dotted with both large and small, unexplored islands. This uniquely diverse environment is home to kokanee, ling cod, lake (char) trout and rainbow all in the same lake!

For you anglers, we have kokanee, with mature fish ranging from 3 to 5 lbs. Generally, June to early July is the best time to be fishing for kokanee, which school around the entire lake.

Fishermen who want to experience the thrill of a big fish seek lake trout, also known as Lake Char. These fish enjoy the deep cool waters of Bridge Lake and can grow to enormous sizes. Lake Char are one of the fish included in the provincial "Catch & Release" program. For more information visit www.gofishbc.com/tips_articles/catch_release.htm

The colourful and feisty stocked rainbow make excellent sports fish. Ideal fishing is in spring - early summer, depending on temperatures, when the rainbow feast on insect hatches, or in the fall just before the lake freezes. Trolling for rainbow is also very effective.
